Aurora Aksnes is Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. She's professionally referred to as Aurora. The name of her can be also stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and received great reviews from the music blogosphere and the media. She has previously recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. She gained some further recognition thanks to a Facebook post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was locating a keyboard at her loft, where she was captivated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to study music as an interest or profession. To do this she began to write music that was her own. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an inclination to Bjork's style. Her mother urged her to play her songs in public, not for the sake of trying to be famous, but to help others realize how important that they are, and the impact they can contribute to the world. When she was six, she began to play on the piano. When she turned nine, started writing songs. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she first told her parents. Aurora was not a goal. Her words say that she likes to write songs. According to her, music is her favourite way of feeling something.
